Claire Randal is a British army nurse in World War II who is enjoying her second honey moon in Scotland with her husband Frank. He is a MI6 Officer looking forward to a new career as an Oxford historian. Frank is trying to uncover some things about his own family history. As a matter of fact he searches for one particular ancestor named Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall All of a sudden Claire is transported to 1743 where her freedom and life are threatened. Waking up in the middle of a ferocious battle between the redcoats and the highlander rebels; on top of that she is then seized and presented to Colum Mackenzie laird of the castle accused of being an English spy; she cheats certain death when the Lord decides to keep her on as a healer.
